Actor Paul Newman, who died in September, founded the only global forum of business CEOs focused on increasing corporate philanthropy. The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy includes more than 175 executives representing companies that account for more than 40 percent of reported corporate giving in the United States, according to its Web site.
