In awarding McDonald's $98,000 in a libel case against two vegetarian activists, a British judge found that some of the charges the activists made were true. The court said that McDonald's was responsible for cruelty to animals, exploiting children through its ads, and depressing wages in the British fast-food industry. McDonald's announced that it has no plans to try to collect the damages.
